Symptom: you attempt to login to the web proxy, and the
box keeps popping up asking for your password.
Step 1: Check to insure that your username is in all
lowercase letters for the proxy login. Your password is
case-sensitive and must be typed exactly as you created it.
If that doesn't resolve your problem:
Step 2: Check your browser settings and make sure
you have cookies enabled. Enable cookies, if you don't have
them enabled, then clear your cache and try again. If that
doesn't resolve your problem:
Step 3: If you have recently added or changed any
firewall or anti-virus software, check to insure that those
programs haven't changed your proxy settings in your
browser. Your proxy should be set for tusk.cotse.net as the
server and port 8080.
If you have recently added or changed your firewall or
anti-virus software, make sure that you have allowed a
connection to tusk.cotse.net
If none of the above steps resolve your problem, you can
try rebooting to see if that clears the problem. If that
still doesn't work:
Step 4: Login to the webmail interface, and click on
Options. Then scroll down to "Change
Password." Change your password to a simple
password of all letters (this is a temporary password, and
you will change it back later).
Once you've changed your password, try logging in to the
browser with your username and new (temporary) password. If
that resolves your problem, you can go back and change your
password to something more complex and then use your complex
password.
If none of the above steps resolve your problem, email
helpdesk at cotse.net for assistance.
